Eric ALZIEU, Graduate Electrical Engineer from the Grenoble Polytechnic National Institute (ENSIEG) in 1992, Specialisation Electrical Transmission and distribution networks.
In 1992, he joined the General Technical Division of EDF in the Electrical Test Department and was responsible for carrying out a two-year field evaluation program for new methods of diagnosing transformers. He also was responsible for the development of a mobile unit for field induced voltage tests. He was in charge of a national transformer database coupled to a diagnosis software used by operators in nuclear power plants for predictive maintenance based on oil analysis. He is also in charge of R&D actions in the field of diagnostic and on-line monitoring tools for transformers and bushings. In parallel, he participates in factory acceptance tests.
He is a CIGRE member and participates in JWGD1/A2.44 (new frontiers for DGA interpretation) and WGA2.53 (interpretation methodology for the mechanical condition using FRA).
He is a speaker at the Grenoble Polytechnic National Institute (ENSE3) for a “Transformer reliability and maintenance policy” course.
